NISPOM Consulting and Consultants for National Security

Knox Defense Group provides advisory and consulting services for organizations seeking to comply with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual.  The Department of Defense (DoD) has codified the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) in regulation.

As such, the NISPOM establishes requirements for the protection of classified information disclosed to or developed by contractors, licensees, grantees, or certificate holders (hereinafter referred to as contractors) to prevent unauthorized disclosure.

Knox Defense Group is a trusted partner, working in collaboration with organizations for ensuring implementation of the following NISPOM initiatives:

  • Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with NISPOM requirements. This may involve reviewing existing policies, identifying gaps, and developing new policies to address security controls, employee clearance procedures, visitor management, document handling, and other relevant areas.

  • Security Assessments and Audits: Conduct security assessments and audits to evaluate an organization's compliance with NISPOM. These assessments may include reviewing physical security measures, conducting vulnerability assessments, assessing security training programs, and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Security Training and Education: Provide training and education to employees and contractors on security practices and procedures. This may involve conducting security briefings, workshops, and specialized training sessions to ensure that personnel understand and comply with NISPOM requirements.

  • Facility Security Clearance Support: Assist organizations in obtaining and maintaining facility security clearances. This may involve helping organizations navigate the process of applying for clearances, conducting self-inspections to ensure compliance, and preparing for government inspections.

  • Incident Response and Investigation: In the event of a security incident or breach, we provide guidance on incident response procedures and assist in conducting investigations. They can help organizations identify the root causes of incidents, develop corrective actions, and implement measures to prevent future occurrences.

  • Continuous Monitoring and Compliance Support: Help organizations establish mechanisms for continuous monitoring and compliance with NISPOM requirements. This may involve implementing security control measures, conducting periodic security reviews, and providing ongoing guidance and support.

Our NISPOM consulting services are designed to help organizations navigate the complexities of complying with the regulations and ensure the protection of classified information. Our services can be extremely valuable for defense contractors and entities involved in sensitive government projects, as non-compliance with NISPOM requirements can result in the loss of contracts or other adverse consequences.
